NC Newspapers in Education

NIE is an acronym for Newspapers in Education, a worldwide effort that supports the use of newspapers as supplementary text in schools, homes and other educational settings. Through NIE, newspapers offer their resources to advance learning in a variety of areas.

Newspapers in Education programs serve the following, all year round:

Kindergarten through 12th grade classrooms

Private and pubic schools

Adult education programs

Colleges and universities

Homes

Summer reading and other community-based programs dedicated to literacy and civic learning
